The Commission for Equality in Labour and Employment - CITE promoted, on April 27th, in the auditorium of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Coimbra, a Mutual Learning Session of the Project "Igual Pro - Professions have no gender".
Igual Pro - Professions have no gender" is an action-research project whose main goal is to combat sexual segregation in educational and vocational choices of girls and boys and the consequent segregation of professional choices. Thus, this project aims to deconstruct the gender stereotypes associated with different study areas and respective professions, with special focus on training areas where there is an effective segregation between girls and boys.

The Mutual Learning Session was aimed at presenting the results of the scientific diagnostic study on Gender Stereotypes in the Choices of Professions, which sought to identify the gender stereotypes associated with the professional choices of male and female students attending Professional Courses at the Training Centers of the project's partner entities, These included seven (7) Training Services of the IEFP - Institute for Employment and Professional Training (Viseu, Évora, Amadora, Bragança, Faro, Porto and Aveiro) and five (5) Training Centers (CECOA, INETE, MODATEX, CENFIM and CINEL).

This study will promote the deconstruction of stereotypes associated with the professional choices of young people with the aim of promoting gender equality in the choice of and access to professions where the existence of greater segregation by sex is confirmed.
During the afternoon a Round Table was held with the presentation of Best Practices of projects that promote the elimination of gender stereotypes in different contexts.
